50 new electric buses to serve in Beijing

Now that the expansion of the first electric charge station in Beijing has been completed, the second batch of 50 electric buses is expected to be put into service soon.

According to city transport authorities, the electric charge station located in Beitucheng is in “full working state” to charge more than 100 times a day. This is enough to guarantee normal daily operations of the 50 electric buses, which require 10 minutes to charge each time.

It was reported 486 energy-conserving and environmentally-friendly black electric taxies were also put into service ahead of the upcoming two government sessions, which are known as the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. They are held in early March every year in Beijing, the capital city and political center of China.

As early as 2008, electric buses provided services in Beijing during the Olympic Games.
